Threading the River is a seven-day creative rites of passage—an immersion in medicine story, animist writing, ceremony, and the midwifery of your own true song. You'll be held within a living indigenous medicine story filled with thresholds and portals for deepening, journeying, and return. The canyon wren threads its liquid song. The river moves—unhurried, unhurriable—carrying you somewhere deeper than you knew you were going. The river reshapes you. The river restores you. ReStories you. Calls you home.

There is a knowing in your soul older than the story you inherited. A tear in the fabric. A hunger at the edges. A calling that will not let you go.
You have already answered the call. Maybe you completed multiple journeys. Maybe you are answering a new call. You are already somewhere in the crossing.
And still — the old story reasserts itself. Patterns are sticky thick. Trickstery. The noise of the machine can be deafening. Old patterns can nest us back to sleep -stay safe -it’s dangerous. The tools of awakening can also become their own busyness. Fix fix fix. Process process process. Gather gather gather. We process and analyze and tend and still something in us knows: there is deeper to go.

Jumping Mouse is one of the oldest teaching tales of transformation on this continent. She is a map for the becoming that is already alive in you.
It is the story of a small creature who hears something at the edges of the known world — and cannot unhear it. What follows is not a comfortable journey. It is a series of impossible threshold crossings, and leaps of courage and faith -each requiring different tasks, different qualities, the giving away of something precious. An eye. A way of seeing. Until — blind, alone, at the summit — sitting in the great patient unknowing — she is touched by something vast.
This is not a story about becoming someone else. It is a story about what the soul already knows beneath the old outworn story. A courting of longing. A courting of the true self. A humble call to the rumble roar into the depths — to discover what has been waiting there all along.
We will uncover the gifts and teachings hidden inside smallness through mythopoetics, animist, embodied writing explorations and guest teachings — and the becoming that waits on the other side of every giving-away.
The Container
Eight weeks. Weekly live sessions. Wild writing, somatic practice, ceremony and prayer woven through every threshold. Guest teachers whose medicine belongs to each particular doorway — from the somatic field, voice work, grief tending, ancestral medicine, and the more-than-human world.
This is not just a writing program. Writing is one of our tools. This is a creative (w)rite of passage that uses story as its map.

I grew up on the edge of Lake Superior, in an isolated snuggle of land in Upper Michigan. I was swallowed by stories before I knew how to name them — by the forest, by dissolution, by buried rites of passage with no container.
Story has imprisoned me. Story has saved me. Story has transformed me. Story has set me free. Story is not just metaphor. She is alive. She is my favorite medicine.
For over two decades I have been guiding seekers through mythic threshold crossings — using fairy tale, embodied writing, somatic practice, ceremony, and the transformative power of mythos as initiatory map. I hold a Master's in Transformative Language Arts from Goddard College, am SomaSource certified, and spent thirteen years as a Waldorf educator before the stories called me deeper into this work.
I am devoted to Soul, Story, and Season.
And I believe — in my bones — that Story is how we find our way through.
